What are the Uses of Metoclopramide tablet?
As we know that it is an antiemetic medicine so it is used to treat vomiting.If any patients are taking medicine and they are vomotting then doctor prescribed metoclopramide tablet.Vomiting in migraine diseases.
Prevention of nausea and Vomiting due to cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy.While operation after using anesthesia if patients are vomiting.
It is also used in the morning sickness(nausea,vomiting,fever in the morning) which is mainly seen in the pregnant women.
In cases of emergency operation of patients it is used to remove out the food from the stomach
Another disease is Dyspepsia in which food moved through mouth due to undigestion then this medicine is used.
Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in which heart burn,food come out in the mouth due to extra acid secretion
How Metoclopramide works?
Metoclopramide is a Dopamine antagonist and antiemetic agent which stimulates the upper gastrointestinal tract motality resulting accelerated gastric emptying and intestinal transit, increased resting tone of lower oesophageal sphincter
It shows antiemetic properties by antagonising central and peripheral dopamine receptor.
Dose of Metoclopramide Tablet
Doses for adult under 60 kg is 15 mg per day
For adult over 60 kg is 30 mg per day
Duration of this medicine is commonly 3 to 5 days
It safe for pregnant mother but avoid during lactation.
